Casar de Burbia achieves recognition in the three most prestigious competitions in the United Kingdom

On the occasion of the thirty-first edition of the London Wine Fair, the results have just emerged of the three most important competitions in the UK (the Decanter World Wine Awards, the International Wine Challenge and the International Wine & Spirits Competition), where the Casar de Burbia cellar obtained awards and recognition in each one of them.
Without doubt, the winery from el Bierzo is to be congratulated for obtaining a silver medal with Hombros 2008 and a Special Recognition for Casar de Burbia 2008 in the prestigious International Wine competition "Decanter World Wine Awards”, which goes to show that these wines deserve to be among the best in the world in their category. Similarly in the International Wine Challenge -IWC 2011 - Casar de Burbia achieved a Silver Medal with Hombros 2008.
Likewise the International Wine & Spirits Competition, which recognizes excellence in wines and spirits from around the world, has awarded a bronze medal to Hombros 2008 and also to Casar de Burbia 2008, the only accolades obtained for the Bierzo reds.
The new 2008 vintage for Hombros that just hit the market, is in the words of the winemaker and the winery's technical director, Isidro Fernandez Bello, a fresh wine of great intensity with a lingering aftertaste, no doubt a long life wine.
