Castilla y León holds a privileged place on the Spanish wine map. Nine denominations of origin and some other regions of local wines (vinos de la tierra) outline the wine production areas in this region.
Analyzing each different wine from Castilla y León is of vital importance when considering the geographical, geological and climatic peculiarities of the different wine-growing regions that extend over 90,000 hectares of vineyards.
The whole range of quality wines is produced in Castilla y León. From red wines for laying down, for long aging, crianzas and vintage reservas from the Douro, to the young, light and fruity wines, from the whites with a marked varietal nature; each, with its own peculiarities and nuances.
